Beate is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist and designer. Born in Stockholm 1995, Karlsson studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design and Central Saint Martins.

Karlsson draws from her own experiences, her childhood and DIY culture to inspire the production of new meaning in objects, applying her art and design onto everything from clothing to sculpture.

As an artist and designer Beate has made it her mission to redefine her personal preconceptions of clothing, accessories and products. In her designs she hopes to mediate the same sensations that she experienced as a child, when the discovery of an object had an element of surprise and forced her to develop her thinking of the world.
